Chris Bosh may have just answered the biggest free agency question (for LeBron James and himself).

Before the Miami Heat took off for Indianapolis on Tuesday afternoon, Bosh was a guest on the local South Florida hour of The Dan Le Batard Show, which airs nationally from 4 to 7 p.m. on ESPN Radio.

Le Batard—the longtime Miami Herald columnist—and co-host Jon “Stugotz” Weiner played two games with the Miami Heat forward/center, first asking him to “fill in the blank” and then asking him to answer “true or false.”  (more…)

One of the most significant categories but also one that will be very difficult for the winner to be determined is the Defensive Player of the Year. The classic dilemma that voters face is choosing between a big man and a stretch player. The truth is that centers and big men in general usually get more credit on defense. They are the ones blocking or at least altering shots and in general barricade the paint.

However, perimeter players, forwards and guards also have big contributions in a team defense. Sometimes their contributions don’t show up on stats. They might not record a steal or a block, but defense, in general, has so many aspects that can’t be measured with numbers that it’s simply wrong to judge a player on defense just from his stats.

Kyrie Irving May Have Suffered A Season Ending Biceps Injury

Cleveland Cavaliers All Start Point Guard Kyrie Irving may miss the remainder of the season with a biceps injury. The injury occurred during Sunday’s 102-80 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Irving left the game with a left biceps injury late in the first quarter, and he was later seen leaving the arena with his left arm in a sling.  Irving was scheduled to have an MRI on Monday in Cleveland, but two NBA sources indicated the injury could be severe enough to end his season in the worst-case scenario. Irving has missed just three games this year with a left knee contusion.  (more…)


Phil Jackson Could Join The New York Knicks This Week

The New York Knicks are pursuing Phil Jackson to run the basketball side of their organization.  All indications are that Phil Jackson will accept the New York Knicks’ offer to join the club’s front office, according to a league source that spoke to ESPN.

“The Knicks have a sense of what’s going to happen,” the source said. “And as of right now, it looks like Phil’s taking the job. There’s always the possibility of something falling apart at the last minute, but the Knicks’ sense is that he’s joining them.”
